After-school center for homeless youth hosting march, block party in Uptown
The Dallas Morning News – An after-school center for homeless youth is hosting a community march Thursday afternoon to show Uptown residents that even the wealthiest parts of town have pockets of poverty.
About 2,200 students in Dallas ISD are classified as homeless, and about 100 students at North Dallas High School don’t have a home.
The march, which will be followed by a block party, is meant to show residents and businesses in Uptown that there are homeless youth who also live in the community.
